The following guidelines are meant to help attendees and presenters of the 2019 TCDL. Should you have additional questions, please contact the Texas Digital Library at info@tdl.org.
Q. How do I submit a proposal?
A. Please submit your proposal here. All proposals (e.g., presentations, panels, posters, workshops, etc.) must be submitted by the proposal deadline. Instructions for submitting proposals are coming soon. Keep in mind:
- If your proposal is accepted, you MUST REGISTER for the conference and are responsible for your registration, housing, and travel costs.
Q. Do I have to register for the conference if my proposal is accepted?
A. Yes, you must register for the conference to present. There is a discounted rate for attendees from TDL member institutions and an early-bird registration discount if you register by April 5th, 2019.
Q. Will the conference host (Texas Digital Library) cover any other conference-related expenses for presenters?
A. No, the TDL does not cover any other conference-related expenses for presenters. We rely on registration funding and sponsorships to pay for the venue and conference arrangements.
Q. Can I attend just a portion of the conference and not pay the full registration?
A. No, the TCDL registration is for all 3 days of the conference, including pre-conference workshops. There may be special pre- or post-conference workshops or training opportunities that will require a separate registration and fee. If you are interested in just attending the pre-conference meetings/workshops please contact our conference planner via info@tld.org.
Q. Do I have to be a TDL member to register for the conference?
A. No, however attendees from TDL member institutions receive a discount on conference registration.
Q. Is there a quiet and/or lactation room at the conference facility?
A. Yes, there is a lactation room available at the Commons Learning Center. TDL will also have a “recharge” room this year for those who need quiet downtime during/after a session.
Q. What if I have a food allergy?
A. If you have a dietary restriction or allergy that you would like us to be aware of please make note of it in the “dietary restrictions” portion of registration. If you need any additional accommodation please email our conference planner via info@tdl.org.
Q. What if I need to charge my computer.
A. While the Commons Learning Center does not have power outlets in the auditorium, they do offer a charging station located near the registration table.
Q. May I promote my accepted session on Twitter?
A. Yes! Let’s work together to create some buzz about your participation in the 2018 TCDL. Please promote your own presentation as well as the conference in general to your colleagues and social networks. @TxDigLibrary | #tcdl2019
Q. Do TCDL organizers provide transportation from the hotels to the conference venue (Commons Learning Center)?
A. No, attendees are responsible for arranging their own travel and transportation arrangements to and from the conference. Several of the nearby hotels offer shuttle service. Please contact the hotel directly to determine if a shuttle is available. See the Accommodations page for more information on nearby hotels.
