Webinar #2: Researching Your Community with QGIS

Presenters: Kate McNally Carter (University of Houston) and Joshua Been (Baylor University)

In this webinar, you will learn how you can use open source GIS software to map and analyze features of your local community. Focusing on open data sources, the presenters will walk through the process of locating, loading, and preparing data for analysis. Participants will also gain hands-on practice in analyzing a statewide database. No prior experience with GIS is required. We recommend that participants download the current version of QGIS before the webinar to participate in the hands-on activity during the session.
