AUSTIN, TEXAS – The Texas Digital Library is pleased to announce the official launch of the Texas Data Repository. The TDL-hosted Texas Data Repository is a platform for publishing and archiving datasets created by faculty, staff, and students at Texas higher education institutions. The repository is built in the open-source Dataverse platform, developed and used by Harvard University’s Institute for Quantitative Social Science.
Using the Texas Data Repository (TDR), researchers can deposit a wide variety of data and related electronic materials, including spreadsheets, sensor and instrument data, surveys, GIS data, and imagery, along with associated materials such as codeboks or data dictionaries. The Texas Data Repository helps researchers comply with funder mandates for data archiving and sharing, and supports research grant-seekers by having infrastructure available at the time of proposal.
The repository is a service of the Texas Digital Library, a consortium of higher education institutions in Texas that builds capacity for preserving, managing, and providing access to unique digital collections of enduring value. In conjunction with the launch of the Texas Data Repository, the TDL is hosting a Spring 2017 3-part webinar series for TDL members, “Laying the Foundation for Research Data Services.” Visit the TDL Webinars page for more information on the webinar series and to register.
