The TDL Metadata Working Group met on March 17 at Baylor University to discuss progress on its projects for 2010. The mission of the group is to provide general metadata expertise to the TDL community through the development of best practices and communication around trends in metadata development.
Attending the meeting were Metadata Working Group chair Amanda Harlan of Baylor University, as well as Daniel Alemneh (University of North Texas), Jee-Hyun Davis (University of Texas at Austin), Jeanne Hazzard (Texas State University), Holly Mercer (Texas A&M University), and Jason Thomale (Texas Tech University).
Meeting topics included the results of a statewide survey of librarians on metadata needs, information that will help the group develop training and other resources to serve Texas libraries.
The TDL Metadata Working Group will provide the TDL community an opportunity to learn more on its efforts and to offer feedback at a workshop to be held during the Texas Conference on Digital Libraries (May 17-18). Stay tuned for more information about the time and location of that meeting.
