The Texas Digital Library is excited to provide its users with a new tool to help them get the most out of Vireo, the TDL’s system for online submission and management of electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs). Thanks to the efforts of program coordinator Ryan Steans, the TDL is offering a set of online training videos covering a range of topics relevant to both student and administrative users. The series is intended to supplement in-person training sessions offered by the TDL throughout the year.
Among the topics discussed in the videos are:
- the five-step student submission process;
- an overview of the administrative interface of the system; and
- in-depth explanations of each portion of the administrative interface.
To sample the tutorials, you can watch the Administrative Manager Tour video below:
The rest of the online tutorials can be found on YouTube and are accessible via the Vireo section of the TDL Wiki.
The TDL is offering several classroom training sessions on Vireo during the spring 2010 semester, with the next course offering on January 25. All sessions take place at Baylor University in Waco and are open to faculty and staff at any TDL member institution. Check out the TDL training page for more information on those courses.
